Art of Amy Brown par Amy Brown
I like this artist's work. But I wish a few things: (1) she could paint eyes better, (2) she would paint feet differently. Some paintings reminded me of Michael Parkes, whom she acknowledges as an influence.
I like a lot of the ideas in here, but the more I looked at the pieces, the more I noticed all the little mistakes in anatomy, etc. Also the way she draws feet REALLY bothers me. Agh.
This is the second volume of works by the extremely popular Amy Brown. The reproductions are spectacularly full-page. Her fans could hardly ask for more.
A lot of her work is very reminiscent of Art Nouveau. Others are charmingly whimsical. She has a number of nude and partially nude figures. One thing that bothers me about some of her work is that some of her fairies have an air of renting out by the hour that goes way beyond being scantily dressed. I bought this a while back when I was fascinated with faeries. Pretty good, but I'm so sick of seeing her work all over the place now that it's kind of an embarrassment to even own this, just like any over-done fad item.
