Teague, you had me at “darling!” This lovely, charming Regency romance took hold of me and didn’t let go. Lady Ivy Amberton lost a piece of herself when her father died. Her half brother & his wife took her and her sisters in but have made sure in no uncertain terms that they follow every dictate of Society to the letter. Stifled at every turn, she finally has the opportunity to visit relatives at Clairvoir Castle with her sisters and relishes the opportunity. Before she goes, her brother makes sure she knows she’s expected to marry, soon.
Lord Dunmore, Teague Frost is about to rock her world. The charming Irish baron met Ivy before in an incident involving theater glasses. He was intrigued by her then and when he sees her at Clairvoir where he’s staying with his sister and brother in law, he’s determined to get to know her.
I absolutely adored Ivy & Teague! Teague is the most delightful flirt, but also a caring, thoughtful suitor. He enjoys hearing Ivy’s opinions and encourages her to be her true self. Ivy feels a sense of freedom with Teague. Not only does he shamelessly make her blush, but he listens to her opinions, cherishes her, and is particularly aware of her and her sisters’ needs. He’s honestly my new favorite Sally Britton hero!
I loved watching their relationship blossom! I have to admit I was a bit nervous when Ivy’s brother and wife come to visit, but was soon relieved with Teague there to bolster Ivy’s confidence. I loved that Ivy stayed true to her commitment and when given a choice, recognizes the gift she has in her choice.
This gentle, sweet, witty, feel-good romance left me grinning and sighing with happiness. I immediately wanted to read it again, especially for Teague’s charming flirting. Highest of recommendations to wholesome Regency romance fans! I received an advanced complimentary copy but also purchased through Kindle Unlimited.
