Although this book is well written and easy to read, it fails in its subtitle. Though the subject of belief and consequences is occasionally brought up, this book is mostly a memoir of the author's life and his long-term relationship. Their travels through the back roads of the United States make for a nice environmental treatise, but even that is not fully realized. The author touches on ideas of life, love, death, and environmentalism, but it is more rambling memoir than any coherent discussion of the above. This book provides a good corrective to the many hagiographies that have been written about Billy Graham. As I read through these pages, I cringe to remember that I once thought of Graham as a sincere, honest fellow, though terribly misguided. It becomes evident that much of what is happening in politics today was aided and abetted by the preacher to the presidents, and the American public fell for it hard. The writing style is snappy, the book reads quickly; my only real complaint is that the book has a distinctive look of a self-published book, which could have been avoided by getting someone with appropriate skills to design the book for you. Also, some rather glaring typos at times, and the misdating of the Constitutional Convention in the last chapter are a bit cringe-inducing, and detract a bit from the overall work.… (plus d'informations)
