I had mixed feelings about this book. First, I liked this book because personally I thought Edmund was a very interesting person and had an exciting life and story to tell. For this reason, I think the readers would be drawn into the book. I also enjoyed the real photos that were added every few pages. The book showed pictures of him as a baby, with his hiking gear, and as an older man. I thought they were interesting and made the reader able to have a visual of what he looked like. I think that they could have added more pictures to the book however. For example, they could have added a picture of Mount Everest or a comparison chart so that readers know just how big of a mountain it is. I didn't like how the book itself was organized. The pages are very bland with nothing to encourage the reader to read on. It is just text on the page with a few pictures every few pages. There are no extra textural features that motivate the reader. The story itself was interesting, however; I think it could have been more engaging to young readers, since it is aimed towards elementary students. Overall, I think this book was aimed to inform readers on Edmund Hillary and the exciting life he lived.… (plus d'informations)
