Strange Beliefs, Customs, & Superstitions of New… par Leo Bonfanti
Rather useful collection of superstitions and folk customs by an amateur folklorist. Not particularly well-written, but interesting material nonetheless.
Biographies & Legends of the New England Indians Vol. I –
This is the first volume in a five volume set. I read this book as part of my research on the history of New England for a book I am working on and I found the information to be interesting and helpful. The book is short but packed with much information. In fact one of the things that I did not like about the book was that it was to full! That is, the text seemed crowded on the page. I have two words of advice for the next printing “white space!” Other than that I have no problem with the book. It delivered just what the title stated “biographical sketches of several 17th century Indian leaders” and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
