Cannibalism in High Medieval English Literature… par Heather Blurton
Beowulf chapter has an interesting reading of OE crux eoden, and a nice new reading of Richard Coer de Lyon as a reversal of Chanson de geste topoi (where Richard, even when faced with stereotypically shaped Saracens, himself behaves like a Saracen "cannibal"). Beowulf material here, in conjunction with Marvin's recent hunting book and his arguments on Heorot (Hart), could be the basis for a formidable lecture. Not really my cup of tea, but others might enjoy it quite a bit.
