Book does not contain a lot of INFORMATION, it's rather short overview of jazz history and styles, up to end of 1960th. But it gives a lot of positive IMPRESSIONS AND FEELINGS, because all of these photos, disc covers, posters, historical nuances around jazz, etc., so it was a REAL PLEASURE to keep it in hands.

Also, I found 6 complementary CDs very useful. Each covers one period/style of jazz, and contains info about songs and performing artist, so CDs themself can be a starting point for your new music explorations.

It can be very good book about jazz to start with. But it can be interesting even for people that have been listening jazz for years (like me).… (plus d'informations)
