I won an e-copy of The Mother Of All Things, authored by Gabriel Blake, from the Member Giveaways on Librarything. What follows below is my honest review, freely given. I am thankful for the opportunity.

I rated this novel 5 stars.

I found myself waxing between feeling I knew what was happening, to second guessing myself; I often told my husband that the book was messing with me, keeping me adrift. The author would simultaneously be clear and elusive, while reading I would be hard pressed to fully understand the unease creeping up my neck. I loved this aspect of the novel to 11. One thing I knew to be true is that I despised Robert and Chloe! I had to take a short break from reading this, I had some ARC’s with release dates coming up that I needed to focus on; picking it back up I easily fell back into the story. After finishing the novel I could fully appreciate all the subtle pieces sown throughout. They came together in my mind right at the end, as I’m sure was intended; but it felt like a genuine sharing with the author, not an instance where you feel the author is possibly mocking you for not getting it sooner. I am once again being purposely vague in my review to avoid spoilers, which I feel could be easily done.

This book was a blast to read, the story was ever changing, I developed strong opinions and definitely picked sides with the characters, there was blood and guts, this is the full package here people. There is a second book, so the story is not over; I am very excited to see what happens next.

If I could rate this book with more than 5 stars, I would do it. This story was an absolutely, off the charts, phenomenal read! It garnered all of my attention and held me completely rapt from the first page to the last. The writing was awesome, and the compelling storyline kept me guessing until the very end. The characters were so well developed and their emotions were so believable that I felt as if I knew them myself.

I literally couldn't put this book down. I began reading it and spent the entire day finishing it! I had to find out what the end of the story held for it's readers; and believe me, it was completely worth the wait! I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil a single aspect of this incredible story.
There were some great unexpected twists and turns in this book. I'm usually very good at figuring out secretive plotlines, but this one really had me going for a long while before I even had an inkling of what might happen.

I can't say enough to laud this incredible book. This is an absolute must, must read!
I'm already looking forward to the next book!
