{my thoughts} – This book is quite similar to the book she had written called {a tale of two mommies} and it is just as good. I enjoyed this book. It helps children to understand that it is alright to have a different family dynamic. It’s alright that most children don’t have a mommy and a daddy. Some children have two mommies and two daddies. I am one of those people that don’t have an issue with other individuals and their life choices as long as they don’t affect my life and my children. When I say this, I don’t mean it in a bad way. People cannot help who they fall in love with and children cannot help who their parents are.

This book helps to show another side of what a real family can be like. As long as a child has a parent that will happily help them do whatever needs to be done to help the child grow, learn and become all that they can be. That it is possible for any child to become more then they are and that the parents that raise them with the values that are instilled in them are the only values that matter. This is a well written book and I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to share it with my children.

A Tale of Two Daddies is a wonderful, charming, little story that brings to light some very important issues (in a very friendly way!).

Our little friend has two Daddies - Poppa and Daddy. Poppa is good at braids, Daddy takes care of her when she's scared. They split all of the important Daddy related items, because she has two wonderful Daddies to help her out! She explains to her new friend all of the fun ways Poppa and Daddy help her.

The book is very simple and sweet. It's perfect for young readers and is a wonderful way to explain to kids why their friend might have two Moms or two Dads. The book is progressive and positive, and I love that. It works in all of the best ways.

I absolutely love the cartoon-y pictures. I think it fits the theme well and is very engaging. There's lots of colours and not too much to drain your attention away from the story. Near the end of the book, it gives a little example for how the art was made and that made this story even better. I thought it was very cool to see how they made the effects be softened!

Overall, this is another must read gem in the children's fiction department. Pick up this picture book, because it is so totally worth it.

Five out of five stars.

I received this book for free through NetGalley.

Thank you to Vanita Oelschlager, VanitaBooks, LLC, and NetGalley for the advanced reviewer copy of “A Tale of Two Daddies” in return for an honest review.

On the heels of recently reviewing “Phoenix Goes To School,” the children book about a transgender child going to elementary and being in school for the first time, I absolutely wanted to do “A Tale of Two Daddies” and “A Tale of Two Mommies.”

I am very pleased at the turnout of all three of these books and about the idea of addressing all these questions children have about these subjects, about their friends, and their friends parents. I will be giving out copies of all three of these to my nieces and nephews in the future.… (plus d'informations)
