2023 movie #85. 1995. Set in Dec. 1999, with no mention of Y2K. Instead the big tech threat is a device that allows you to record your memories and share with others. Highly illegal. Mixed into the mix is an LA in what seems to be a permanent riot. Pretty decent movie.

2022 movie #185. 1990. A man (Silver) sees rookie cop (Curtis) shoot an armed burglar in a grocery store. He insinuates himself into her life while meanwhile he's killing people around town with the cop's name inscribed on the bullets. Creepy AF. Good psychological thriller.

An FBI agent goes undercover with bank-robbing surfers.

Very intense; I was still a bit on edge for a good half hour after watching it. Easily the best serious war movie I've ever seen. Crazy well-made, and apolitical.½

Storyline

The story of USSR's first nuclear ballistic submarine, which suffered a malfunction in its nuclear reactor on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic in 1961. The submarine's crew, led by the unyielding Captain Alexi Vostrikov, races against time to prevent a Chernobyl-like nuclear disaster which threatens not only the lives of his crew, but has the potential to ignite a world war between the super powers.

1958: The Soviets are building their first ballistic-missile-equipped nuclear submarine, and the craft seems cursed before it even touches the water.
A fire breaks out, killing two workers. Six women suffocate from fumes while applying insulation. An electrician is crushed to death by a missile-tube cover. An engineer falls between two compartments and dies.
