Chinese Healing Arts, available for the first time in this coiuntry, was originally translated in 1895 from classical Chinese texts, and reveals a time-honored science Internal Kung-Fu.
This is a unique book which blends the ancient with the modern, and prescribes a program to develop and integrate the body and mind. Included is a discussion of Taoist sexual control, static and dynamic posturing, internal and external massage or kneading, meditation, respiratory exercises, and acupressure. Ta-Mo's (Budhidharma's) Sinew Change and Marrow Washing exercises, knowledge lost for centuries, are also included. Herbal prescriptions accompanying the exercises have been updated for modern use. Beautiful, ancient woodcuts and an appendix of contemporary photographs illustrate the exercises.
