Richard Williams Bell (1811–1857)

Yikes. I've read quite a bit about the legend of The Bell Witch in Adams, Tennessee over the years. I had never read this actual account by someone who was there for the activity. This tale is creepy and scary as hell, especially if you accept that it is a true account.

One word of warning: both The Bell Witch herself and, apparently, the author of the account are racists. The Bell Witch is much more horribly candid about that fact. Even if the account is true, and even though these events took place in the early 1800s, that particular section is a difficult read.… (plus d'informations)
