Especially for Ralph. Or something similar. Not in CLAN.

very informational book about the men who fought in early wars, and the causes of them. Would be a very good tool to use in a history class. This book has plenty of actual pictures of the soldiers. A very well documented book.

The book Billy Yank and Johnny Reb was a great book to read it had action, stories and a lot of info from both South and the North.
The book Billy Yank and Johnny Reb was published in Minneapolis, NM in 2008. It was written by Susan Provost Beller and there’s 99 pages. My opinion on the book s really good I enjoyed how it told info from both side. Both the union and the confederates had struggles in the war but the both were smart and figured out ways to win.
The Union were represented by the North; Billy Yank was the nick name for the North. The fought in a lot of battles and struggled a lot in many ways. One was they were runny out of supplies really quickly. It wasn’t just the North but the South too. Plus when men, women, and children would get injured they wouldn’t have a lot of medicines to cure them and a lot died. Also the north had way more soldiers. Plus they had smart generals.
The confederate represented the south. Jonny Reb was the name. They didn’t have a lot of supplies because they didn’t have many factories. Plus the south didn’t have as many factors, soldiers. Railroad, and population. The North might had mor everything but the south had better strategy and training. The generals from the south will be known for awhile.
Both union and the confederates had many difficult times during the war, but they worked through it and try to make things right. The battles today have improved and the strategy also. The civil war still is known for a bad time from the slavery and it will always be known.

There are many wars. Friends and family miss their loved ones. One war is the war of 1812. The author told you how it was like to be in a war. The book Billy Yank and Johnny Reb was good because there were many good details and pictures.
In this book, the author told many stories. One story was that a guy went back out in the battlefield just to save his friend that had already died. That soldier was very brave. People had bad living environments. There were diseases, loss of food, and water. Another bad living environment was that they could have died because of the loss of blood.
There were hardships during the war. The time period covered was in the 1800’s. The war lasted years. This book gives you so much information about the war. The pictures were my favorite part because they looked real and they had little texts that said what they were for.
The book Billy Yank and Johnny Reb was good because there were many good details and pictures. People die in wars. People are being missed by their loved ones.

Book review

You might think that all civil war books are interesting until you read Billy Yank and Johnny Reb soldiering in the Civil War by Susan Provost Beller. This historical fiction novel focuses on the information of the most important topics of the civil war. At the end of the review you will not want to read this book. Billy Yank and Johnny Reb was one of the worst books I have read because it didn’t tell of anything interesting with a little action.
In the book there were no main characters or main setting. The only part that talked about characters was when it gave quotes from soldiers during the civil war. Other than that the book gave me information like a dictionary. After focusing on 1 topic for a little bit it would go to another 1 and just kept going on and on and on. It had no action that wasn’t related to the topic. Like it would talk about a jail break in a prison and that would be it. I felt the book wasn’t interesting.
When I read the book I was amazed about how much I didn’t know about the civil war. But after a while I got sick and tired of just learning facts about the civil war. It was like spoon feeding a baby broccoli. I was very happy when the book was over. It felt good to know that I didn’t have to read it anymore. The book was really informative but it got boring real quick.
Out of everything I said I would just want you people to not waste your time and money on this book. Also I think you all know I wouldn’t recommend this book to you unless you need a book that will give you as much information you need on the civil war.

A decent read but nothing really exciting. For anyone who is familiar with the battle at Gettysburg this is probably a pass. The Arthur dose a good job of relating the human element and loss at the battle by use of personal soldiers accounts of the fighting. in an area that is so saturated with literature they're many others that I believe do a better job.
