This short {yet concise} book was a refreshing break from a longer novel selection. With only 8 chapters, and "easy-read" quality, you can easily finish this in one 30 sitting. King Tut is a fascination that I don't think many will ever out-grow. This book reveals details on a bit of the life and death of King Tut. I did learn a few things along the way too. One being, that I had heard of a rumor about the possibility of disease or disfigurement of the young boy. What i didn't know was that both a cane and crutch were found in his tomb.

I think the obsession with tombs and Egyptian life will always be there for young and old. Let's face it who wouldn't love to find a hidden long-forgotten tomb of a pharaoh. Then to be the first to lay eyes on the treasures within. There is an ere of mystery about all the mummies ever discovered. The one thing that disheartens me is that some explorers were reckless in their discoveries, causing both known and unknown damage to artifacts and the mummies themselves. Which is one thing discussed in the book. It floors me to think that poor King Tut was actually dismembered so that they could get him out his sarcophagus. Eek! What were they thinking!

What I enjoyed the most about this book is that it made no mention of the "curses" that many have claimed to occur. While, I do enjoy another layer of mystery, I do think that it was all coincidence and movie generating rhetoric. This short book keeps it simple, yet down to earth in information. I highly recommend everyone to read it, young and old. It is full of fascinating tidbits about the youngest King known to Egypt.… (plus d'informations)
