This is not a book for the beginner, but if you have needlework skills, this will give you lots of ideas of ways to use them on buttons. The directions for specific buttons are quite detailed, although they often assume you know various terms and techniques. Often there are also hints of other things to try out that are not explained in detail.

The book makes me long for a workshop in some of the techniques, but failing that, I think I could work many of these from the book.

This book is an amazing piece of work, and an asset to any fiberarts and/or history enthusiast
