This second collection of smoothie recipes from the Corpening sisters is organized in a very similar fashion to the first, with introductory comments on fruit selection, binders, nutrients, and preparation. The recipes themselves are divided into eight sections: energy elixirs, immune boosters, weight-conscious concoctions, for the gals, kid shakes and baby blends, for the fellows, stress reducers, and "our faves."

Although these recipes are slightly more complex, they are still quite easy to prepare, provided that you have an industrial-strength blender that can handle ice. I particularly enjoyed the yoga blend (strawberries, mango, guava, banana, coconut) and flu-buster (OJ, strawberries, papaya, banana). This collection of smoothie recipes has been on my "cookbook" shelf since it was first published, and has provided some wonderful moments of (healthy!) indulgence. It is divided into four main sections, including: basic smoothies ("wholesome mergers"), vegan recipes ("no-moo blends"), sweet treats ("decadent medleys"), and cocktails ("drunken concoctions"). Also included is an extensive glossary of fruit.

Some of my absolute favorites are: smoothie classico (OJ, strawberries, bananas), dangerously red (Cranberry juice, strawberries, raspberries), and the black beauty (vanilla yogurt, grape juice, blueberries, blackberries). A fun little book, but be sure to have an industrial strength blender that can handle ice.… (plus d'informations)
