Bridget E Baker has created a convincing other-world within our own world, with engaging characters and a thrilling story-line. Her premise is well-executed, and backed by believable explanations.

Mary has let her childhood trauma keep her closed off from deep personal relationships. She channels all her love into her charity pursuits. And then she meets someone who makes her want to let down her walls and take a chance.

Alora belongs to two worlds - one that she dreams of and one fixed in reality. And then they start to mix and all her paranoia about being chased - that is real. There's a good amount of action.

All kinds of goodness wrapped up here - the mythical Garden of Eden, the "choice" that Chancery finally makes between her two love interests, the end of the world, the unmasking of the betrayals (meant and stumbled into), and finally the achievement of those lofty goals Chancery set for herself when queendom was thrust upon her.
