Helen Bailey (1) (1964–2016)

Helen Bailey was born at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England on August 22, 1964. She studied physiology at Thames Polytechnic. Instead of pursuing a scientific career, she became a secretary. In 1987, she went to work for a licensing rights company, where she fell in love with the boss, John Sinfield. afficher plus They married in 1996. Her first Electra Brown book, Life at the Shallow End, was published in 2008. Besides the Electra Brown series, she also wrote Running in Heels, the Felicity Wishes series, the Topaz series, and the Willow of the Woods series. She and her husband were on vacation in Barbados on February 27, 2011, when her husband got caught in a riptide during a morning swim and drowned. She created Planet Grief, a blog in which she described her struggle to cope with the sudden death of her first husband, and wrote a memoir entitled When Bad Things Happen in Good Bikinis. Seven months after her husband's death, she met and fell in love with Ian Stewart. In April 2016, Stewart reported Bailey missing. On July 15, 2016, police found the remains of Bailey and her dog in a cesspit at her house. The next day Stewart was charged with her murder. Bailey was 51 years old.
