Kent Babb is a member of the sports enterprise team at The Washington Post, which he joined in October 2012. His work was included in the 2013 edition of The Best American Sports Writing, and his long-form journalism has been honored eight times by the Associated Press Sports Editors. A 2004 afficher plus graduate of the University of South Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communications, he began his career at The State before joining City Star, where he spent five years as a reporter and columnist. - Kent Babb has been a staff writer at The Washington Post since 2012 and is currently assigned to its Sports and Society investigative and enterprise team. He previously wrote columns and covered professional football for The Kansas City Star, and before that, he was a reporter with The State in Columbia, S.C. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Babb’s work often examines sports’ intersections with culture and politics.
His journalism has appeared three times in the prestigious anthology The Best American Sports Writing, and the annual Associated Press Sports Editors contest has honored three of his features as the best in the country.
