Bob and Flo Play Hide-and-Seek was a book I picked up for a virtual baby shower I was invited to. I like giving gifts and I love books, so it seemed like a good fit! A local book store had it on clearance and it was in perfect condition. I grabbed the book to give it a quick review before I ship it off to it's new home.

This book is very sweet but feels like it's missing a couple pages (think the whole trouble the movie Elf had at the beginning, where Hobbs' book was missing pages). Bob suddenly has a cake after he found a good hiding spot. Either way, it's still a great book for preschoolers!

Two out of five stars.

The pretty pastel illustrations are the best part of this book. Unfortunately, and not to get too political, Flo's passive stance when her bucket is stolen by Bob bugged me! What are we teaching our little girls? I also felt like this was attempting unsuccessfully to emulate the dry and clever style Klassen's, I-want-my-hat-back, capture. Maybe I'm reading into this a bit. It's an acceptable preschool book.

A cute, funny story about a boy who told a lie about what happened to his sweater. The lie kept getting bigger and bigger until it finally ate him up. Bottom line…Tell The Truth! Colorful illustrations, cute animals. I would use this book for preschool story time.
