Steamboats on the Mississippi par By the Editors of American Heritage

A large book for a fairly narrow topic, but the book is well done and full of information that would be helpful for a student interested in the topic. It reads like a storybook, and has a great deal of pictures and artwork. No bibliography, but an adequate index.
