Tony Anderson

Well written and good historical background on the smaller bands of mountain people in Georgia. I really liked the chapter on Tao-Klarjeti (Georgian Turkey). However, the novel itself takes place in a much different Georgia than the current one so his writing reads more like the historical travelogues he references than a current book on the country. The final chapter which he and his group hunt an near endangered Tur doesn't hold up well.
