I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Ian is a geeky, yet stronger than expected, guy driving through Louisiana on his way back home from the White Party weekend in Florida. He is lost in the middle of nowhere and finds a house where he asks if he can borrow gas because he is almost out. Mason, the homeowner, gives him instructions of how to get to the next gas station.

Ian leaves and is confronted with awful hunters who decide he should be their next target. Ian fights back as much as he is able while in the middle of a swamp with two idiots with guns. This all happens in the first half of the story. Mason comes to his rescue (although he doesn't know it is mason at the time), and he finds out he is a shifter. The next half of the book is one big sex scene in the swamp solidifying them as mates together for ever.

This story had potential, but ended too quickly for me to absolutely love it. Just when I was interested in finding out how the two of them would make it work being as they only just met, it was over. I was left with more questions and things I wondered about than emotions about the book. One thing that annoyed me immensely is that the book ended at 48% and the rest was blurbs and ads for other books. While I don't mind some of that in a story, I really don't like when it has such a huge percentage. I was cruising along thinking there was more coming and then BAM-it just ended. I wanted more.

This was a pretty decent short story. James is a vampire hunter, seeking revenge for his brother's murder. Thomas is a vampire who comes to James seeking help to get rid of a truly evil vampire. They work together, and James finds himself falling for Thomas despite his feelings toward vampires. There were moments where I had to go back and reread pages prior because I thought I missed something, but the characters had a bit of chemistry. I found my self rooting for them to succeed and find a way together.… (plus d'informations)

I'm not sure if it is just the copy I happened to get, but I found a number of grammatical and spelling errors and wrong names throughout the story. Regardless of this, I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Taylor can't stand Robert (an actor), but all of a sudden falls for his charm. Robert has some immediate infatuation with Taylor that I didn't quite feel. I've read books by this author before and thought they were ok, so this is most likely a case of me just not connecting with the story. ,… (plus d'informations)
