This book is an anthology of Arthurian tales. Arthurian lit has long been one of my favorite genres, so I really enjoyed the opportunity to read this. I liked that almost none of the stories focused on the oft-retold Matter of Britain, but rather focused on adjacent tales within that world. Or better yet, those that spun the story into alternate timelines altogether. Many of the stories are incredibly queer, which also made my heart happy.

I found this collection of short stories to be a mixed bag. I loved the opening poem by Jane Yolen and the story of the wyrm in modern-day New York city. Some of the stories were a little to "open-door" in the romance descriptions for my normal reading taste.

By the light of Camelot is a captivating book on Arthurian tales and the magic and destiny behind it. The short stories and poetry really entertains the reader.

I received this book as an early reviewer. A great collection of Aurthurian tales by well known authors that I highly recommend to any fantasy reader.
