{My thoughts} – Eve is an incredible nineteen year-old girl that lost her mother when she was very young and was raised by her single father. On each birthday her father presents her with letters that her mother had written her so that she can still have insight and a piece of her mother with her always even though she is no longer with her. Evie decides to follow in her mother and fathers footsteps and attends Oxford college in England. There she starts to learn more about her mother and her mother’s life before she’d met her father. There she learns that her mother had a really deep secret that she’d kept from her father. She learned this through special quest letters that Evie was receiving from a close friend that her mother use to have.

While she is there she meets Edmound. He is a fantastic young man that makes her heartbeat faster when he is around her. He helps her to see that things aren’t always as the seem and that things can always get better, if they seem to be worse. She ends up becoming friends with a fantastic group of individuals and together they all do many things that Evie probably wouldn’t have done otherwise. However, she has the most fun when it is just her and Edmound doing things alone with one another.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a lot of twists and turns. Although many of them become expected, it is still a nicely laid out story that draws the reader in. I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to read a light romance with a bit of a struggle, dashed with a side of arrogance. I am sure that you will enjoy it as much as I have. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

This book was a super fast royal themed read. I really did enjoy that it was set it college and set in london. I also really enjoyed the male love intreats a lot. The mystery elements that this book had really did keep me reading. I had some issues with the main character at the start of the book but she did grow on me throughout the read. This was a super charing read and def a fast read.

This book doesn't cover any new ground that hasn't been explored before in other recent royal romances, most notably last year's The Royal We. However, this book had lots of heart and gets an A+ for making me tear up several times, as Evie remembers her dead mother or (view spoiler). It's a very fun, fluffy, and quick read that I enjoyed heartily. I'm super excited to see there's a follow-up coming out in November (!!! Too far away!) focusing on Preston. I loved the supporting characters so it will be nice to have one of them taking center stage.

Also, I really wanted to see more of Evie's dad. Hopefully that will happen.
