Conrad Browning is a fan favorite of Johnstone readers. He is a man who has endured heartache and right now he drifts. Conrad has left the business world in the capable hands of his lawyers and associates. Since losing his wife, he has remade himself into someone different and goes by the moniker of Kid Morgan. In Rattlesnake Valley, the Kid is faced with folks facing unfavorable odds against a gang of cutthroats or he walks away. It amazes me how often the Kid goes about living, not looking for trouble, yet seems to land in a pile of tangled webs. Here is a man determined to buy up all the land around a spread he owns, and the one piece of land he cannot get is of course the one he wants the most. But he won’t hurt the owner, for the leader of the gang fancies himself in love with her.
Terrance Malone is a former pirate on the high seas. After serving a term in prison, he moves to America. Now he is planning on owning all the land around his spread and squeezing out a ranch owned by Diana Starbird and her uncle. Malone plans on using his pirate tactics to take over the one ranch he doesn’t own and take Diana as his wife. Now with the Kid in the picture and siding with the Starbird family, Malone realizes he has a fight on his hands.
Conrad Browning, a.k.a. Kid Morgan, is a solid character in Johnstone novels. Audiences will enjoy the treasure island type of villain whose high sea tactics are about to meet the old west head on! For exciting reading, grab a copy and consider reading the Loner series that is filled with engaging tales for hours of enjoyment!
