On the positive side, I can say is that "Garfield Farm Friends" seems to be well constructed and solidly made. The colors are bright, and it's got round-y corners, which small children like.
On the downside, it doesn't really seem to have a point, unless you want to say that Garfield finds out that farms are not boring. Something I think most children inherently already know.
"I'm a city kitty." said Garfield. "What am I supposed to do... watch the corn grow?"
Well Garfield doesn't do that, but he does eat with a pig, burp, drink milk, ride a horse and dance. "At the barn," the author (Mike Acey) writes, "Garfield and Odie met many other animals: a duck, chicken, goat, sheep, and donkey. They were all very nice."
So my heads-up would be, that even if your toddler likes Garfield to check this one out at the library.
