He did not always get it right first time, and it was left to others to reap the fruits of his many labors. A commemorative publication for the 2006 bicentenary of Brunel's birth, this book is a journalistic treatment of Brunel's life and career. The text is easy for the 21st-century reader without talking down, and the content is absolutely fine. Photographs are nicely chosen, although there are a handful of inaccuracies in captioning. ( )
