The book is about to cousins who write to each other from Mexico and the United States. They each share what their cities are like and what they like to do and eat. I like this book because it shares two relatives experiences about growing up in different places. Students may be able to relate to the story if they have family in a different country. The book also includes words in Spanish. I think this is a great book for 2nd and 3rd graders to read. ( )

This was great book that tells the story of two cousins "primos" as they write letters to eachother while living in different countries. One lives in New York in the United States and the other young boy lives in Mexico. Through their letters to eachother they express their personal lives and experiences taking place all around them. They share many similarities along with many differences. They learn to communicate through spoken words and exchange culture. I really enjoyed this book along with the descriptions and illustrations of the places they lived in. I would definitely use this book in my classroom and to discuss different cultures with one another. In fact, I would love to use this and create pen pals with my students.

This book is about two cousins, one in Mexico and one in New York. Though their lives are different, they are very similar. One rides the subway and one rides their bike. One plays basketball and one plays football. At the end of the novel, they became close and want the other one to visit them. The author provides a glossary of Spanish words that were throughout the book. The illustration is unique, kind of cartoonish. This would be great for primary.
