Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Would-be romance writer Bailey York was a woman who'd already failed twice at love. As far as she was concerned, men were wonderful to read--and to write--about, but that was as close as she wanted to get. Which was probably why she had such difficulty creating a hero.

She needed a real-life model, she finally decided. And she found one.

Parker Davidson was everything a hero should be. Compellingly attractive. Forceful and determined, yet capable of tenderness. A man of substance.

Parker was perfect for Bailey's novel--but he wanted to be the hero in her life, not just in her book!

As a new author, I found this book charming and funny. Bailey is working on her first romance and needs a positive male model for her hero character, Michael. When she sees Parker on the train one morning going to work, she thinks she's found the perfect model. She follows him to see where he works and learns he's an architect. Then she follows him to lunch one day and he catches her following him. Their encounter did not go well. But then they meet again and he agrees to let her ask him some questions. Their rocky relationship, in the name of 'research' grows into something sweet and lasting.

This was a quick and humorous read that I enjoyed very much. ( )

This is a nice escapist romance but not quite believable. Bailey York is a romance writer who needs a role-model for her new book. She finds him and what happens is funny. As you know they fall in love and marry. ( )

In Macomber’s romance novel, Bailey York dreams of being a successful romance writer. Problem is she’s a failure at romance in her own life. Maybe that’s why she’s still struggling in her career—lack of inspiration in real life. In search of a living model, she stumbles on Parker Davidson in all his glory. She’s everything any woman would want—handsome, determined, and caring. But when things shift and the possibility of him becoming her hero happens, panic sets in leaving her to ponder: Is there really a happy-ever-after?

As always, Macomber is a master storyteller who has given the world another delight. ( )
