Frank Morgan is riding in the thick of Redwood Forest when he hears gunshots and screams. The Drifter is used to hearing violent sounds wherever he travels, but these screams sound ominous. Frank has unknowingly ridden into a logging camp that has been savagely ravaged by an as yet unknown assailant. The devastation is unequaled and when other loggers come running to lend a hand and see what happened to their friends, they are stunned.
Frank is hired to locate the monster folks believe is responsible, and a young woman wants him to save the creature. When Frank becomes involved, he runs into an old friend who he has fought beside in the past. Will this man be for or against the Drifter? Frank realizes he is about to be caught up between two logging barons who want the whole she-bang for themselves, and one will go to any length to acquire what he has yet to own!
