This book about the Detroit Tigers and their mascot Paws is really good - even if it isn't exactly accurate. It starts out by showing Paws in Greektown, which is a place in downtown Detroit that many people will try to visit on gamedays. The illustrations show many different Tiger fans in the streets. Fans of all different races, sex and age flow into Comerica Park. The picture of Greektown does show a pay phone on the sidewalk - I can't remember the last time I've seen a pay phone anywhere.
The page that depicts Comerica Park is spot on. The illustration shows the two bats that line the entry way, and the multiple stone tigers that stand on top of the stadium.
The book does not show the Ferris Wheel or the Carousel. It also misses out on capturing the statues and GM water fountain in center field. There is one page that says, "Paws went into the bleachers to visit his fans." While the picture on that page shows Paws standing in the stands between home and first base. He couldn't be any farther away from the bleachers!
But all in all - this is a good book. And I would certainly recommend it to any sports fan. ( )
