An abridged version of the stories that tell of Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole and steps through a mirror, thereby experiencing unusual adventures with a variety of nonsensical characters. The first thing I want to mention about this book is that the last chapter of the book offers discussion and reflection questions and prompts about the book. There is also an "Afterward" by a professional in the early childhood field, he offers further reflection and why books like these are important to young readers. He reminds the readers that stories like these provoke thought and entice children to ask questions and think abstractly. The questions in the discussion chapter range in difficulty, for example, "What would you have done if you were Alice?" , "Did the flowers have good manners?" and "How can you explain the poem Jabberwock"? The story itself is very engaging, and I like that the author took the time to really make it an interactive book by adding this section. The book is geared towards a 3rd grade to 5th grade reading and comprehension level. On the pages, the sentences and words are large and have enough space in between for easy reading. Certain words, phrases, poems etc...are italicized, bolded, written backward, enlarged or the font changed to provide an emphasis or high light a major event or key point. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
