This collection of poems had many topics and no certain way in which it was grouped. The topics of the poem were very different from each other. For example, one poem was about the months of the year and what type of weather each month had. Another poem was about the wind. This poem told about what the wind blew around and how sometimes it made the days colder. While another poem described a brothers relationship with his little sister. He told about how they played and took care of one another.

I do enjoy reading some poems but I am not a poetry lover. This book was hard for me to sit down and read poems out of. Although I did like the poem about the little sister, I am the little sister so I felt like I could relate to that story.

One way to use this book of poems would be to take the poem written about the months and have the children use this poem to help them learn the months as well as what the temperature and what each month brings. Another way to use this book would be to have the students write poem about a sibling or relative. The students could tell how they spend time with that person or how that person makes them feel.
