In tracking down older titles by this author, I came across this gem. I did not find this a light read; perhaps it was too close to home. It is a story of depth about realistic people who have made disastrous mistakes, but who are trying to get it right. In the course of the story they move two steps forward and one step back, but they do inch forward as they strive to live out their Christian faith. It explores the question of subservience and the healthy role for a wife who has a giving, servant heart? For Michael, the question is the opposite: At what point does mutually-agreeable, head-of-the-family leadership become tyranny? What role does each partner in such a relationship play in keeping their union in healthy balance? This is a faith-affirming, marriage-affirming story. I really liked it. If I were going to change one thing, it would be the title. It gives the impression that this will be a light, escapist read and, for me at least, it hit a different mark. ( ) This is story about a marriage that has been given a second chance. Michael has come back into town, a changed man, and wants to make it right with his wife, Jeanie. They both have to face problems in their marriage, but they both have the Lord in their life to help them now. Michael is a bossy guy and Jeanie needs to quit being his doormat. It is a quick and enjoyable read. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
