At the end of the story the bears feel bad for Goldilocks and do not seem angry with her. This version of the tale can be used to teach about perspective. The teacher can read the original story and this retold story and compare how they are different and similar. ( ) I was interested in reading this particular book because I had already read quite a few interpretations of Goldilocks and the three Bears. This book, while still slightly in the perspective or Goldilocks, switches over to the bears perspective. Goldilocks mentions that she finds the cabin very dirty and sweeps it all up into a neat pile outside the cabin, something that her mother would be proud of her for. Enter the bears, and the think that the pile is actually a mess. It lets the readers see that different people like things different ways. What one person may find messy, another person may be fine with it. It also shows that people like to eat their food in different ways. A theme that I got from this book is "to each his own," even though the words are never said. It was cute, and I expected to hear more from the bears perspective as the synopsis claimed. The ending was very cute. Gorgeous illustrations! This is my favorite retelling of the Goldilocks story! Goldilocks really tries and help the bears by taking the bugs out of their porridge and "cleaning" the fur and sticks out of their house, not knowing that the bears WANT those things there! Both sides see the other as being someone to be pitied because they are different, and thus apparently lacking. I think this would be a fantastic book to use when talking about perspective, differences, and acceptance. A realistic approach to the well-known story! FOLKLORE: The "Goldilocks and the three bears" story is a classic folklore that has been passed-down and repeated for generations. The element of fantasy is seen in the way the bears lead a very human life and speak human language. The folklore element is seen in the way this particular tale has been handed-down through generations both orally and in print. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Goldilocks, ignoring her father's warning not to rush in where she does not belong, enters a cabin in the woods, cleans it to meet her standards, plucks from the porridge items unappealing to her before eating a bowlful, and falls asleep on the bed that suits her best.
