Surprised by how much I enjoyed this! It’s bleak, lots of graphic body horror (usually not my cup of tea), and mostly unlikable characters IMO. I could not put this down though!

I wish we would have found out more about the backstory of the vines/Mayan villagers. Based on the title, I was expecting more lore…or really emphasis on the ruins. That’s more of an observation than a complaint. This was really entertaining and I’m glad I read it! ( )

DNF. I really tried, but I'm at just over 40% in and I'm not engaged in the story. Quite frankly I'm bored. The story is too slow and nothing is really happening. I don't care about any of the characters. I wanted to love this so much and I don't. It's disappointing.

I didn't finish it. I watched the movie & it was just as disappointing as what I imagine the book would've been. ( )

The first half of the book was reading about a group of people who are all just unlikeable. Then you move on to them doing something very stupid. And then the decision making continues to get worse until …. Well I guess that’s a spoiler.

I didn’t care about the characters or what was happening to them. For similar but better quality horror, read The Troop by Tim Cutter ( )
