What a fascinating read. Terry Fator shot into the public eye on the 2nd season of America's Got Talent. He brought out his ventriloquist dummy Emma and opened her mouth to sing "At Last" the Etta James classic -- in perfect imitation of the legendary songstress.

There is a feeling in the book that he still doesn't quite believe that he won that season, even though he now as his own stage at The Mirage casino in Las Vegas.

The bulk of the book is the background on how Terry worked for years to gain the respect of a selfish, overbearing and jealous father. Did the fair circuit for years hoping for a break. Supported and was supported by his brother, sister and wife. And general was just a working class guy who worked to make ends meet and needed his wife's income to keep his head above water.

There is a lot in this book that is very, very sad, including the fact that his father emotionally and physically abused all three children from day on and no one stood up for them. But it seems like Terry has managed to both deal with that abuse but determined that he wasn't going to let him keep him from his dreams of making people smile, laugh and enjoy themselves when he is on a stage.

Highly recommended for anyone who as heard this amazing ventriloquist and even more so for those who haven't heard him yet.

Want a taste, listen to what America heard in his audition on AGT.
