It reminds me of Hibbert's book on Nelson and another on General Wolfe with the operatic-like deaths of the subjects (Moore, Woolfe and Nelson) highlighting each book's climax. It would be interesting to read the story from the French viewpoint. For instance, did Marshal Stoult experience similar problems with discipline and supplying his army?
