As the front cover says so well; "Faced with a bleak future, gentle Julia's life turns upside down when her lively niece and nephew make an extraordinary proposition." Julia Cloud (called 'Cloudy Jewel' by her niece and nephew) has just lost her invalid mother and is now faced without financial means to live on her own. She dreads accepting her selfish sister's offer to come and live with her family (and take care of her spoiled children). Then she gets an unexpected visit from her dear niece and nephew and they encourage her to come and be their "Mother" as they move back East to attend college. They want a home to come home to each night and want their Cloudy Jewel to be there for them. Suddenly Cloudy Jewel's life takes on a real adventure and she will find a peace and contentment in loving these two very special people. ( ) Julia Cloud has cared for her mother all her life. When her mother dies, Julia is middle-aged and her sister expects her to come live with (and serve) her. She is rescued by the arrival of her orphaned by wealthy niece and nephew, Leslie and Allison, who want a mother to make their college house a home. She is delighted to renew their relationship, but finds that they do not understand her Christian faith and certain standards such as keeping the Sabbath. She gently guides them with her loving influence, and at her urging become involved in a Christian organization for young people, which they end up rejuvenating. I have some quibble with the apparent implication that getting involved in such a group greatly contributes to their desire to follow God, but overall this is a sweet story of love, growth, and faith. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
