This book tells the story of a bird who has just migrated from South America to Baltimore, MD. He travels across the city to well-known landmarks and historical sites (the National Harbor, Fort McHenry, etc.) telling the reader a little about each.

I really liked this book because it was based on baltimore. I think it gave some really great facts, but the author did a good job of introducing the facts in an engaging way. I loved the illustrations because they were very realistic. I also loved how you could see the brush strokes in each picture which shows just how much time and effort the illustrator put into them. I also enjoyed the point of view. I liked how the author used third person instead of first because third person isn't used very often. I feel like it was fitting for the topic of the story. I also enjoyed the writing that the author used because he gave personal human characteristics to the birds which shouldn't have human characteristics. I think that is especially important for young readers because it makes the story more engaging. I would say the big picture for this book would be that you should always listen to your parents because it will be rewarded. ( )
