I read Pemberley, another Pride and Prejudice spinoff by the author a while back. It is fun to see what happens next between Elizabeth and Darcy, though I had a different ending in mind. This book jumps forward in time, the Darcys are having problems with their teenage son, who is set to inherit Pemberley, and who is not as sensible as Miranda, the older sister who won't inherit. This is a light, wet winter's day kind of read. What I didn't like was that Elizabeth had lost her spark, whereas in Pemberley she is a newly-wed having doubts, here it seemed like her marriage had cowed her into submission. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

This is Emma Tennant's inventive continuation of Pride and Prejudice. As in her earlier novel Pemberley, Emma has written an original work of stylish irony, wit and insight into early 19th century life and manners. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

17 years later... You will meet a hyperkinetic and hilarious Mrs. Bennet, a lovely Jane, an uncertain and brooding Elisateth, a Mr. Darcy who always remains himself: sometimes hateful distant, sometimes in love like a child, their two childeren Miranda and Master Edward. There still is the annoying Mr. Collins and his rather timid wife Charlotte, not to forget the haughty Miss Bingley and Lady Catherine and a lot of other acquaintances. Beautiful chicklit when you are captivated by the world of Jane. Not more, not less. ( )
