This book reveals a man who has been given a dangerously free pass by historians, but who in reality is not only a failed ex-president, but as vindictive as he is egotitical, and a self-righteous busybody who leaves diaster in his wake. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

The final picture painted feels apropos; the tone is even-handed, but never more even-handed than honest. It points out that the picture of Carter fainting in the heat after running was spun unfairly against him, and it points out the many cases where the media carried water for him.
Carter's post-presidential unravelling and his pernicious legacy shine like garish lights; garish for we see them now without the exculpatory claims of humble virtue. Most revere Carter because they do not know him. To all such souls, I can only advise you to read this book. ( )
