En Berlín, este 30 de abril de 1945, los jardines de la Cancillería
han adquirido un aspecto lunar: la ciudad se ha convertido
en la Sodoma o la Gomorra del siglo xx.
A ocho metros bajo la superficie del suelo, dentro del bunker del
Führer, se oculta la araña en el centro de su tela. Seguido por
Goebbels y su ayudante de campo, Adolf Hitler profetiza: «Ya lo
veréis. Los rusos sufrirán la mayor y más sangrienta derrota de
su Historia ante las puertas de Berlín.»
Pero Goebbels, que tres meses antes proclamaba: "Si tenemos
que desaparecer, toda la Tierra temblará», repetía este día a todo
aquel que quería escucharle: «Esta no es solamente la derrota
militar del III Reich; es toda una concepción del mundo lo que
se desploma"
Veinticinco años después de esta declaración, queda planteada
una pregunta: Cuál era, pues, esta nueva concepción del mundo?
Cuál era, para emplear una expresión alemana, esta Weltanschauung
que la Alemania nacionalsocialista quería expandir por
toda la Tierra?
Sigue desconociéndose sobre qué concepción del hombre descansa
el nazismo (al menos, en el espíritu de sus guías espirituales); a lo
sumo, se creía poder buscar en una cierta Logia del
Vril (emanación de la Rosacruz) y en la personalidad de Karl
Haushoffer, los balbuceos de la Weltanschauung hitleriana. En
esta dirección trabajaron autores como Louis Pauwels y Jacques
Bergier en su célebre obra El retorno de los brujos*
No obstante, Bergier y Pauwels cometieron un error de filiación
en la tradición a la cual vinculaban el nazismo: es cierto
que en esta tradición existía, de hecho, una corriente oriental,
pero ésta ha venido a incorporarse a una corriente principal...
