My 10-year-old and I reading this all the way through and trying most of the recipes. We've learned some really cool facts about kids in other countries, and my son is absolutely taking off with the cooking. He cooked a Thai dish tonight for my parents, and was motivated to make a quick bread totally independently as well. I highly recommend this book to parents who want to provide a multi-cultural cooking course to their kids. This cookbook is a great resource for fun, child-accessible recipes from around the world, but it is also full of fun facts, profiles of kids from other countries, and ideas for throwing themed parties involving food. Recipes are all rated for difficulty level, and instructions are broken into discreet and well explained steps. Illustrations are clearly rendered with a computer collage style, and sidebars marked with repeated logos for "cultural clues," "fun facts" and "food funnies," emulate the layout of a textbook. Wonderful for school or public libraries serving children ages 5 through 12, and their families. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

I would make sure to let other faculty know about this book. It would be great to use in conjunction with a unit on any of the places featured. Students could try a recipe from that place. Also students could have an international pot luck using recipes from the book. ( )
