Careful and thorough, Schumacher writes about every facet of Allen Ginsberg's life and career and left me feeling as though I had known Allen all his life. There's so much warmth and generosity in this book, even when discussing the more flawed aspects of Ginsberg's life and, by extension, the core Beat writers. What shines through most for me is that Ginsberg was always looking to improve upon himself and be the best he could humanly be, and his commitment to the love and gentleness for his friends and humanity around him. What an extraordinary person Allen Ginsberg must have been. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
With the sweep of an epic novel, Michael Schumacher tells the story of Allen Ginsberg and his times, with fascinating portraits of Jack Kerouac, Neal Cassady, and William Burroughs, among others, along with many rarely seen photographs. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
