This comic is entirely in Spanish, so I can not speak of the dialogue in it. The comic itself does a good job of telling the story of the Alamo with the images in it. Because of the quality of the images it is easy to follow even though I do not speak Spanish. Although this book is easy to follow, I don't think this would be good for a classroom strictly because of the adult nature of the story. Although I could argue that the adult nature could be good for creating dialogue especially since most kids today love Marvel movies which feature many scence's with violence in them. This book though could be good for a Spanish speaker to read and retell to you the teacher, since it is an engaging story. ( )

Great book to bring into a fourth grade class when discussing the Alamo in a Texas History lesson. It is set up in comic form and provides great illustrations. The chapters are short and follow a distinct timeline. This book is in the same series as the Robert E. Lee graphic novel. ( )

Summary: This is the story of the battle of the Alamo. The details are in the illustrations more than in the text.
Personal Reaction: I thought this was a good summary of what happened at the Alamo. I am not a fan of graphic novels, but I can see why they would interest children.

Classroom Extension ideas:
1. I would have students choose a small portion of the story and write a description of the scene. I feel this would help strengthen their reading skills for traditional novels.
2. I would have students choose a character from the book to research further and either write a report or draw a graphic report about the characters life.
