While Elizabeth Crane's writing creates a fairly unique voice and often comes at a story from a refreshing angle, this collection of stories doesn't do much to show the range of Crane's abilities. Instead of enjoying a plethora of different ideas, it seems often as if the story is the same only the characters change. I believe that Crane has a great deal of talent, but it is ill served in this collection. ( )

Elizabeth Crane is a genius. The stories in this collection are refreshing for their offbeat characters and her unique writing style. Crane proves the adage that only before one has mastered the rules of writing can one break them. ( )

What a great collection of short stories, some amusing, others unnerving and one or two that made me weep.
