Okay I gave it one star because I like vampires. However this story destroyed everything for me. It may as well have been Twilight with sparkly vampires.

Also what the hell was with nightside? Even their book, didn't call them nightside. They called him night blood. Which actually makes more sense. That's why from the time they said the name of the book, that's what I was calling them. The other name makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

And the grammar oh my god. I am no professional. God knows I make enough mistakes. God knows that my actions sometimes is so strong that it messes with Google translate. Not Google translate, Google voice to text. But the grammar in this book is atrocious.

And why is it commonly seen that we are missing paragraphs of the story? I read the whole thing. In one day, or less. And I swear there are pieces of the story missing. There's no build up to this relationship between Riley and, oh my god I've already forgotten her name. But you get my point.

There is no backstory on the father. There's no explanation about her powers. The father just suddenly appears I don't know where it starts to follow her around one day and automatically she trusts him. Or a guy who is somebody else but turns out to be her father? Weird.

There's no build up to the father suspecting that the girl is a nightside.

There is no build up to the invite for dinner. There's no explanation on how he knew they were at the library. There's no explanations for a lot of things throughout the entire book.

Again I have to ask, how much does the other people get paid to lose the tire reviews? Because I would love a job like that. Just kidding. I wouldn't be able to lie like that. There is absolutely no way unless the reviews are being left by 12-year-olds, that this book would have had that many high reviews.

Now for the people that are sitting there getting mad at me, thinking that I'm trying to rip this author apart, slow your roll. That is not what is happening. As I said, the story has a good baseline, it just wasn't nurtured. And the grammar. She was way too accepting about becoming a vampire. She was way too nonchalant through the entire book. The only time that she seemed to show any emotion was at the end when somebody was attacking her boyfriend. And even that didn't last.

And since, if you haven't followed along, I have already invested time into the series by reading the first book, I will read the last two. And I will probably regret it. And just an fyi, my thoughts on the ending, the girl should be the one leading. Because with nightside it seems to be about power. And she clearly has more than enough power. ( )
