It will be great for current young people to read and live out.Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This book is full of pieces of wisdom from Richard Shear, a high school principal, that will help graduates on the road to success in life. It covers mistakes many people make when they leave high school, people that have been good examples in Dr. Shear's life, and important lessons he has learned over the years working with high school students. The only thing I didn't like about this book is the final section where he seems to take inspirational bits from multiple contradicting religions. Other than that the book is full of important lessons that could help a graduate build their future.Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This booklet would make a nice high school graduation gift. There's not really anything in it that would come as a revelation to someone who's been around the block a time or two, but I think there are a few things in it that could benefit an 18 year old. It was written by a high school principal and the genesis was apparently his addresses to his graduation classes. The chapters are generally one or two pages and are to the point. Full disclosure: I won a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. If you ever thought that you could write a book...this is a great testimony to the fact that not only can you take an interest or expertise and write about it, but you now, can self publish it as well. This is meant as encouragement and a compliment.I'd say that this book is full of timeless advice for us all. The truisms presented in the book ring true, and seem to be undeniably agreeable...with one slight twist. I enjoyed the challenge of the more "spiritual" entries at the end of the book. The fact that the book straddles both vanilla and challenging ideas is interesting. If I were marketing this book, I'd consider not only targeting graduating seniors, but suggest that we should change the paradigm of the title and actually begin teaching these life lessons, explicitly, to students as young as elementary aged. I appreciated the "voice" and experience of the author. Readers of this book will enjoy a refresh of the axioms contained within, or an introduction to them if that hasn't yet occurred. Give it a great...share it with others...use it to engage in conversation with those around you...a good an worthy read. I got it for my daughter for when she graduates in the future, and was hoping it would have some good information in it, that just isn't taught at school. It truly did not disappoint, and I would be interested in seeing what else this author puts together in the future! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
